Courtney Brown has big ideas.
She loves to plan parties and experiences for children and adults of all ages. She adds that magical and detailed touch to all of her events.
After graduating from The University of Colorado at Boulder with a film degree and working in Hollywood for 3 years, it did not take Courtney long to realize that she was in the wrong biz and that it was time for her to listen to what everyone had been saying for years: your gift is working with kids. She moved to NYC and received a Masters of Science in Education from the top progressive education program in the city, Bank Street College.
Courtney grew up in Las Vegas and was educated in a traditional school environment, where teaching to the individual child wasn't the case. She never had a clue what was going on in school, and couldn't wait for the bell to ring. As a teacher, this made it easy for her to relate to the students who were also unengaged. Courtney learned to nurture her curiosity in her own ways, and shared that love of learning with her students.
Courtney has taught elementary school, art to K-8th graders, and she taught math at Aspen Elementary. She picked up a few other talents and certifications along the way. She is a certified Karma Kids Yoga, Circus Yoga, and Parent and Baby/Child Yoga instructor, and teaches Cardio Pilates to adults. She teaches writing workshops and improv comedy. Oh and have you seen the girl shoot a basketball, she will take you down in Knockout…any day.
But really, she just wants to have fun and make life fun for others!!
Barclay doubled majored in Biscuit Eating and Chuck-It Playing. He received his master's degree in Belly Rub Receiving soon after.
