After graduating from The University of Colorado at Boulder with a fine arts degree, it did not take Courtney long to realize that it was time for her to listen to what everyone had been saying for years: your gift is working with kids.
She moved to NYC and received a Masters of Science in Education from the top progressive education program in the city, Bank Street College.
Courtney grew up in Las Vegas and was educated in a traditional school environment, where teaching to the individual child wasn't the case. She couldn't wait for the bell to ring. As a teacher, this made it easy for her to relate to the students who were also unengaged.
Courtney learned to nurture her curiosity in her own ways, and shared that love of learning with her students.
Courtney was a first and fourth grade teacher. She taught Art to K-8th graders. Courtney also taught math at Aspen Elementary, as well as substituted throughout the valley.
While raising her daughter, Courtney has stuck to tutoring, but will one day find herself back in the classroom.
